Google Meet now suggests follow-up tasks when a meeting ends, and Codex now predicts your next message. Both are on by default. A Workspace admin can switch off Meet's suggestions; in Codex, you can switch off the predictions yourself. Gemini put its connected apps, more than 40 of them, behind one Customize menu, and Notion added controls over who and what can see each database column. Google also delayed skills in Workspace apps on Oct. 13, a launch it had planned for this month, and hasn't set a new date.

Gemini suggests follow-up tasks after a meeting, on by default
When Take notes for me ran during a meeting, the post-meeting screen now offers next steps, such as drafting a follow-up email in Gmail or sending action items to Google Tasks. Google announced it Oct. 12; it's on by default and has rolled out gradually since Oct. 5, with visibility possibly taking longer than 15 days. Admins can turn it off for a domain, organizational unit or group in the Workspace Studio admin settings or through the Take notes for me setting.

The composer now predicts your next message, on by default
Codex suggests your next message from the current thread. Press Tab to accept it, then review or edit it before sending. Generating predictions doesn't count toward Codex usage limits during the beta, but messages you send, accepted predictions included, follow normal limits. If you'd rather write your own, turn off Show predictions in the Composer section of General settings.

A new Customize menu gathers preferences, skills and connected apps
Open the left menu and click Customize to set how Gemini responds and which tools it connects to. Google says you can connect more than 40 apps or services. Some are available outside the U.S., in other English-speaking regions, Brazil and India. Each connection lets Gemini reach that app from a chat, so open Customize, look at what's connected and turn off anything you don't use. On a work account, connect only what your company allows.

Skills in Workspace are delayed; the Gemini app has them now
Google had planned to finish the Rapid Release rollout by Oct. 12 and start Scheduled Release domains on Oct. 19. Google now says the Workspace Studio and Workspace apps launch is delayed until further notice while it makes sure skills launch safely and reliably. Skills in the Gemini app started rolling out on Oct. 13, with completion expected by mid-November, so not everyone will see them yet. Keep your Gems as they are until Google sets new dates.
