Some bills moved more. The 6-month bill yield rose 5 basis points to 4.35% and the 1-year rose 3, to 4.47%, while the 3-month held at 4.22%. The 6-month now sits 35 basis points above the top of the target range.

Inflation pricing paused. The 5-year TIPS real yield rose 3 basis points to 2.37%, one more than the nominal 5-year, so the 5-year breakeven slipped to 2.47% from 2.48%. It had risen on Thursday and Friday, from 2.40% on Oct. 21. At 10 years the breakeven held at 2.34%. By this issue's arithmetic, Monday's rise in the middle of the curve came through real yields, not inflation compensation.
